The Department of Health recently released new official advice regarding red meat consumption. They said new studies had shown cutting down on red meat would reduce the risk of cancer.
In spite of this advice, according to last week’s poll here on this blog, nearly 40 percent of the readers who voted said that they would, in fact, NOT cut down on their red meat consumption.
Only 17 percent answered that they would definitely be eating less meat. 21 percent said they don’t eat meat anyway and another 21percent said they were not sure how the new advice would change their eating habits.
The polling report in detail:
Question: “Will you be cutting down on red meat after this weeks warnings?”
Yes, I most definitely will 17.86%
Absolutely not 39.29%
I don’t eat meat anyway 21.43%
Not sure 21.43%
